This summer, Nigeria’s anti-trafficking agencies have been exceptionally active, launching high-stakes operations from Abuja to the coast of Lagos. Each operation resembles a scene from a thriller, yet the stakes are painfully real.
Abuja Task Force Raids (July 2026): NAPTIP operatives dismantled multiple trafficking rings, rescuing 29 foreign victims from a well-known Abuja apartment and intercepting 25 others on their way to the Middle East.
Lagos Mass Rescue (June 2026): The NSCDC intervened in Badagry, Lagos, saving 24 suspected victims, including two pregnant women and a toddler. Authorities arrested three suspects with links to Togo and the Benin Republic.
