Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh’s legacy continues to live on, inspiring many including her niece, Niniola Soleye. Dr. Adadevoh played a key role in ending the Ebola outbreak in Nigeria in 2014, and ultimately gave her life to help patients. Her work saved many lives and served as a model for the country’s public health response. Soleye, who is focused on public health and epidemic preparedness through the Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh (DRASA) Health Trust, is committed to continue her aunt’s goal so that the lessons of the past are not lost.
The condition of healthcare workers in Nigeria has been revealed, especially after the unfortunate death of Mrs. Adenike Bakare, a nurse who died of COVID-19. Her death has generated severe worries over health insurance and safety precautions for medical workers in the country .
